Ok, no point moping, so decided to have another look at the dreaded original project and come up with something abit more sensitive (not like me i know!). Seeing as this is an issue that can only be resolved (if indeed it needs resolving) through dialogue, then this is what i shall try to encourage. I have thought of a book, with various questions, which i think is appropriate for this project as this is a subject that not everyone can agree on, least of all me; and this project far outstrips just what i happen to think. I would like it to be interactive and engage the reader, but i don't know if this is something that would be appropriate, or wether it's just the dreaded 'novelty' trying to seep back in, will have to keep that in check!
I would like to know other peoples' views on this, especially outside the group, so hopefully i can send a mass email out and get some feedback. I will try as far as possible to avoid novelty, and use text and image to promote discussion. I have been trying out a few things today like layouts, cutting and glueing etc just to see what it could look like; a process i really enjoy, i'm never happier than when i'm making something! Will post proper visuals when i've got a few more things going.

Hi Christine,
Have been following your trials and tribulations after you provided a link from the bird forum! I'm also nearing the end of my social work degree and whilst I'm not particularly aux faix with the subject matter, can certainly relate to the stress of it all. Hang in there!!! :-) It's all supposed to be worth it in the end apparently....
Cheers,
Simon
Thanks Simon, I hope yours is going well, do you have to do a final project too or a dissertation? We've had to do both - bummer! Thanks for the support, and as you say, it'll all be worth it in the end (there's nothing like a 20K debt is there?!). All the best with yours,
Christine
I've had to do a research project, but that was 'only' 4000 words. Got my final three hour exam in two weeks time (eek!) and portfolio to hand in about three weeks time (Which weighs in at about 10,000 words!).....
But aside from the debt (!), sleepless nights, and the odd too many bottles of wine(!), everything's hunky-dory!
But in all seriousness, just about keeping my head above water. Could do with a very long holiday when finished though!
Best wishes,
Simon
Dunno whose got it worse, me or you! Tell you what, how about a nice celebratory thread on birdforum when we both graduate?!
Could do with a holiday myself, will have to be courtesy of Barclays though!
Take care,
Christine
I'll hold you to it! I should hopefully find out the result of my degree by mid to late June I think, so look out for an impromptu celebratory thread then...unless you beat me to it ;-)
Of course, exam could go tits-up and I'll be re-sitting in August, a few failed it last year so we're all getting a bit edgy...fingers crossed though, I should have learnt something in the past few years to write about!
Cheers,
Simon
